Tips for New Travel Nurses

So you are ready for travel nurse job. But are you really? We have assembled tips from some veteran nurse travelers that might benefit you.

•Before you do anything and sign off on an assignment with an agency, read and re read you contract thoroughly. Make sure there are no surprises and that what was promised to you orally is part of the contract. If not then make sure that before you sign and get to the assignment your concerns are taken care of.

•Go over your benefits and make sure all your payroll information is correct with the Agencies HR department

•Try moving in a couple days early to your travel location this would help you adjust to your surroundings, understand your living environment and helps you hit the ground running. Do some research about the area and the facility you would be working at before you get there, it is better to be well informed and prepared rather than walking blindly into an assignment.

•Ok now you have comfortably moved in and you have started your assignment, now it is time to get hold of all the information you can on the job about your work environment. Be helpful to the staff already there and be willing to contribute. If you are not sure about something ask your colleagues or your supervisor.

•Enjoy your free time. Relax during your time off; take in the sights and sounds of your new location. This is one of the great benefits of being a travel nurse, the excitement of being in a new place and meeting new people. So enjoy yourself.

Drum Roll: Travel Nurses Find out what you are truly worth

I have already told you that you are getting ripped off by Travel Nurse Agencies.

Now I am going to show you how much can you really make. In reality what is your true worth. Get ready because this is going to be exciting!

First I am going to reiterate how conventional travel nurse agencies pay:

As you can tell from the example below you are only getting paid
About 44% of what the agency is charging the Hospital.

It is amazing the Travel Nurse Agency is keeping $39.20/hr in their own
Pocket and you get to keep only $30.80/hr in this example .

So lets repeat: You do all the work they keep over 50% of the money!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Conventional Nursing Agency Program this is an example of
What an agency charges for a Travel RN for a 13 wk assignment in
Souther California.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Bill Rate:                     $70.00/hr
Agency Fee (56%)                    $39.20/hr
Average Gross Pay                    $30.80/hr

Bi-Weekly Gross Pay: $30.80x80   $2,464/2 weeks
YEARLY GROSS INCOME         $64,064/annum

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
NursesPro 80/20 Safe and Simple Program
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Ok so now to what you should be making according to me, a fair remuneration package for Travel Nurses.
Same example as above except here with NursesPro you get to keep
$46.20/hr and the Travel Nurse Agency keeps only $14/hr for its work. Now doesn’t this seem fairer !

Bill Rate                              $70.00/hr
NursesPro Fee (20%)            $ 14.00/hr
Nurse Average Gross Pay            $63.00/hr
Nurse Overhead (14%)               $ 9.80/hr
Travel Nurse Hourly Net Pay        $46.20/hr

Travel Nurses: Proof That You Are Being Ripped Off by Greedy Nurse Agencies

Last time I explained that the other Nurse agencies keep half of the
money that you earn.

This means that your agency contracts your time out for $60-80/hr
and only pays you $26/hr

Don't Take my Word For It... Try This...

Ask your current Travel Nurse agency if they will tell you how much they bill
your time out for?

After you get their very short answer (Hint: 'NO'), do this:

Go to your hospital administrator or supervisor and ask them how
much they are paying the Travel Nurse agency for your services.

You will be surprised to learn that you are probably making half
this amount, while the agency gets the other half. Does that seem
fair to you? No, it doesn't to us either!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Percentage Of Your Hard Earned Cash That You Get To Keep with -
Us: 90%, Them: 50% (We're A Little Bit Higher.)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

NursesPro understands how this probably makes you feel, so has
created a revolutionary financial model that is different from
every other agency in business and corrects this unfair situation.

At NursesPro, we let you keep upto 90% (less overhead charges) of
the contract bill rate - thisis money that YOU have earned if you are
an independent travel nurse who can find their own assignment with
the hospital. At a $60/hr bill rate, this can mean an extra $44,832 in
your pocket every year if you continue signing assignments with
Nursespro (after overheads,health insurance and housing).

In my next post, we'll take you through an actual income example so you
can see exactly how much money you should be making.

Nurses Are You Sick and Tired of Making the Travel Nurse Agencies Rich?

How Are You Supposed to 'Travel' On Only $26/hr?

The other Travel Nurses agencies paint an idyllic picture of travel
nursing: vacations on a sunny beach, mountain climbing, or
hot air ballooning. Yet, they expect you to do all that on
$26/hour and that to at gross!

Isn't it time you had all the benefits you thought you were
getting when you started to travel,and actually pay you
handsomely for the hard work that you do, as well. Sound fair
enough? Here's how it works.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
What Nobody Ever Tells You About Hospital Bill Rates
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

You may not know this, but most travel nursing agencies will
not disclose how much of the contract bill rate they keep
try asking yours and see what they say!).

According to our industry, the average contract bill rate
is between $60-$80/hour to the Healthcare Delivery
Organization, depending on the region of the country. The
tragedy is that the average pay for the nurse professional
is only $26/hr, according to national statistics.

This means that, on average, you are getting less than 50%
of the contract bill-rate - the agency keeps the rest - why
should they get paid for YOUR hard work?

Not fair right? We understand - Check out NursesPro for Great Paying
